Where we are

Float My Boat is based in Capestang on the Canal du Midi midway between Carcassonne and Sete. Most of the boats are either moored or cruising in these waters or can be found in one of the picture postcard ports on the coast. All you have to do contact us and we will take you to those boats that you wish to see.

The Canal du Midi, the Canal Lateral and the Canal du Rhone present one of the most beautiful waterway networks in the world and they await your discovery.

Carcassonne, Beziers and Montpellier airports are close by and accommodation and transport can be arranged to suit the boat locations.

We will not dwell here on the medieval villages, the Romanesque churches, the abbeys and the history. Nor will we wax lyrical about the flamingos, wild bulls and the white horses that are not just a fleeting glimpse as you glide gently past or tarry awhile.

Of course it is for you to choose whether to meander the rivers Lot , Baise or Dordogne, for any and all of these offer a variety of gentle cruises for years to come.

For those wishing to sail the coast and further into the Mediterranean the glamour of the Cote d’Azur is but a two-day sail away, but it may take a lot longer when you will have become entranced by the beauty and peace of the Camargue. Then again to the south there are the enticing Spanish coves or an overnight voyage to the Balearics. And yet more - consider too the extraordinary and wonderful bays of Corsica, Sardinia and beyond.

In short to have your boat based here affords the opportunity, not only to live the dream or holiday awhile but also to explore an area that can take you back to the beginning of time - and your time is now.
